Facial Waxing
What better way to complement your new hairstyle or color and your new gel manicure than to bring out your true radiance with a facial waxing. Facial waxing removes unwanted and unsightly facial hair leaving you with soft, smooth skin.
There are several ways to remove unwanted facial hair, but facial waxing removes the hair at the root. This allows the hair to grow back in smoothly in contrast to shaving which will cause stiff, bristly stubble to grow in. Shaving will only last for 2-3 days compared to waxing which keeps you with soft supple skin for 2-3 weeks normally.
Another benefit of waxing over shaving is that over time less hair will grow back. Shaving is like cutting grass. The more often you cut the more you will have to cut. Shaving also tends to irritate and redden the skin and who wants to do a man’s activity?
Having some unwanted facial hair for a woman is completely normal. Let’s face it though, facial hair detracts from the beauty you want to present yourself with to the world. It is not difficult to have those pesky hairs removed. You will feel so much better about yourself if you have them taken care of regularly.
Some of the other methods commonly used to remove facial hair are threading, using tweezers, hair removal creams, laser, bleaching and homemade family concoctions. These methods can be more painful and cause your skin to be more sensitive and red. Facial waxing can be used on the most sensitive of skins. Bleaching does not remove hair, but only lightens it. It can be somewhat effective if there is little facial hair, but it is an expensive procedure when it is done correctly.
Here are some tips to allow a facial waxing to have the best results:
1. Clean your face of all lotions, moisturizers and makeup before your appointment. A clean face produces cleaner, better hair removal.
2. Avoid facial scrubs (exfoliants) 24-48 hours before.
3. Avoid tanning beforehand. If your skin is sunburned even slightly, waxing will not be able to be performed.
4. Some acne medications can cause more irritation and pain than you need to feel. It is important to advise your waxing technician of all skin medications you may be taking, both oral and topical.
Immediately after your waxing session avoid harsh sunlight and tanning beds, as well as, topical face treatments, chlorinated water (swimming) or exercise that may cause excessive sweating.
Once you start facial waxing we recommend that you continue waxing regularly. This will maintain your soft, smooth skin most effectively. Exfoliating your skin will also keep your skin soft and smooth. Consult with your waxing specialist for recommended exfoliating agents. Beyond that be sure to keep your face hydrated using a moisturizing cream. Also, wash your face every morning and night and never leave makeup on when you go to bed. Following these simple guidelines will ensure the most radiant (and sexy) facial skin!
